Smoked Pork Ribs - Favorite Food Friday - DisneyDayByDay

Our Favorite Food This Week: Smoked Pork Ribs
Location: The Smokehouse, Epcot, Flower and Garden Festival
Cost: $6.50

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.  Today we head back over to Epcot and the Flower and Garden Festival.   New this year are the Smoked Pork Ribs at the Smokehouse located in the American Pavilion.   The amount of meat on these was pretty small, but the overall smoked flavor was good for the meat it did have.   There are a few different BBQ sauces to try as well, we went with sweet and it was very good.

Favorite Food Friday – Liberty Tree Tavern

Liberty Tree Tavern - DisneyDayByDay

Our Favorite Food This Week: Liberty Tree Tavern
Location: Liberty Tree Tavern, Magic Kingdom
Cost: Adult price range: $31.99-$38.33; Child (ages 3-9) price range: $15.99-$19.16

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.  Today we feature one of our favorite meals at the Magic Kingdom, yes we still miss the characters at Liberty Tree Tavern, but the food is still darn good.   This is a down home meal that will remind you of a traditional Thanksgiving.   The meal starts of with fresh warm bread and salad.  The honey butter makes these rolls melt in your mouth, but try not to fill up on them as we did since there is much more to come.   The main course consists of roast turkey breast, carved ham, and pot roast, with stuffing and cranberry relish.   Everything was cooked to perfection, we couldn’t believe how moist the turkey was.   So good!   Oh you also get mashed potatoes and some green things, I think they call them green beans.   Our son loved the crunch in the green beans and he helped us finish almost everything off.   Don’t worry though, Liberty Tree Tavern is all you can eat so if you run out of something your family really enjoys, just ask your server and like magic it will appear back on your table.    We were getting so stuffed, but tried to save some room as we knew the dessert would be just as good.   The final course is the dessert and it is a Johnny Appleseed Cake which is a cake filled with apples and dried cranberries, topped with ice cream.  Yes, folks ICE CREAM to finish off any meal is a meal well served in my book.    We loved it and jump at any chance to return to Liberty Tree, but keep in mind that the all you can eat meal is only available at Dinner, Lunch is has a standard menu.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Armer Ritter
Location: Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market, Epcot Food and Garden Festival
Cost: $3.75

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.  This time of year is our favorite time to visit Epcot, not only for the beautiful flowers, but also for the amazing foods!  As we entered Germany we were looking for a sweet treat so we grabbed the Armer Ritter from the Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market.   The Armer Ritter is Egg Battered Toast with Cherry Compote and Powdered Sugar.   For us the cherry was tart so you didn’t need much of it to add to the flavor of the toast and powdered sugar.   Overall a nice treat.

Mezze Lune Primavera - Epcot Flower and Garden - DisneyDayByDay

Our Favorite Food This Week: Mezze Lune Primavera
Location: Primavera Kitchen, Epcot Food and Garden Festival
Cost: $6

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.  This time of year is our favorite time to visit Epcot, not only for the beautiful flowers, but also for the amazing foods!  On this occasion we tried the Mezze Lune Primavera. I have to be honest, throw noodles in a pan with some pasta sauce and cheese and you got me :).   But truly this was our favorite items we tried this year.  The Primavera is egg pasta stuffed with Ricotta and Spinach in a creamy sauce with spring veggies and Pecorino.   So see, spinach and spring veggies – this is healthy as well.   If you find yourself at Epcot during Festival, be sure to give this a try, we loved it.

Kids Chicken Skewer - Favorite Food Friday - DisneyDayByDay

Our Favorite Food This Week: Kids’ Mickey Check Meal – Grilled Barbecued Chicken Skewer
Location: Harambe Market Grill, Animal Kingdom
Cost: $6.99

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.  This week we travel over to the Animal Kingdom and to the Harambe Market Grill.   The Harambe Market is a great place to eat with a good variety of food, but as the weather heats up be sure to note that all seating is outdoor.   There are fans to circulate the are, but this is a favorite of ours in the cooler months.   This kids meal features a Grilled All-Natural Chicken skewer glazed with Barbecue Sauce. Includes two selections: Apple Wedges, Carrot Sticks, or fresh Broccoli Spears and choice of small lowfat Milk or small Dasani Water.  You can also substitute a Chocolate Chip Cookie for one of the sides, which our son has always done.   This is a kids portion, but if you are just looking for a quick snack, you can’t pass it up.    The chicken is always cooked well, not too dry and the sweet BBQ sauce is the perfect topping.
