Our Favorite Food This Week: Flame Tree BBQ 1/2 Chicken

Location: Animal Kingdom
Price: $10.49

served with baked beans and coleslaw

This week’s Favorite Food is the 1/2 chicken at Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom.   The meal is served with Baked Beans and Coleslaw (you can swap out either with grapes).   Flame Tree is one of our favorite quick service restaurants at the Animal Kingdom.   Not only is the food good, but you can find a great seat overlooking Expedition Everest.   Stations around the all outdoor restaurant offer your standard BBQ sauce plus a sweet and spicy sauce, give them both a try.

Shorts Saturday: My Favorite Park

Sorry I’m late – had server issues this weekend.

 This week’s question:

“Favorite Park or Ship and Why <50 Words”

Mickey and Minnie at MK

Anytime this question comes up I always head back to the Magic Kingdom.   As a young child our visits to Disney World meant time with our family at Fort Wilderness Campground and the one and only park, Magic Kingdom.  Memories and Magic make the Magic Kingdom our favorite park.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Firehouse Dalmatian Mint Sundae

Location: Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor (Disneyland Main St USA)
Price: $5.99

This week I continue my dessert and ice cream addiction (I promise I’ll start the 5 step program next week) with an amazing treat on Main St in Disneyland.   The Firehouse Dalmatian Mint Sundae is two scoops of heaven or what some of you call mint chocolate chip ice cream (one of my favorite flavors), served in a waffle cup with hot fudge, whipped cream, and topped with a cherry.   I know what you are thinking, where does the Firehouse and Dalmatian come into this special treat???   Well let me tell you, I have no idea, not a clue.   First off this is ice cream so there is no heat involved, and the firehouse is at the other end of Main St and there wasn’t a dalmatian in sight.   But you know what, that didn’t stop me from enjoying this ice cream wonderland and I hope, like me, you can get past the name.

The Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor is a great place to get your ice cream fix.   They feature floats, sundaes, and great flavors of hard ice cream including Butter Pecan, Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, Cookie Dough, Mint Chocolate Chip, Mocha Almond Fudge, Vanilla and even Rainbow Sherbet.
