Hidden Mickey Monday: Big Thunder Mountain

Hidden Mickey Monday: Big Thunder Mountain

Our Hidden Mickey this week is found on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Attraction at the Magic Kingdom.  After you have enjoyed the ride and are headed back into the station, look to your right on the ground to spot this small eared Hidden Mickey.

Have you spotted a Hidden Mickey on Big Thunder?

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: Name the two caves….

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: Name the two caves….

There are two caves on Tom Sawyer Island, can you name them????

While older kids and those with not much time at the Magic Kingdom may want to skip this attraction, Tom Sawyer Island is a great way to escape the crowds and let you kids burn off some steam.

Board the rafts near Big Thunder Mountain and head on over.   You can explore the paths, playground, and even take a rope bridge over to a fort and shoot the guns.   Unfortunately, they no longer hide paint brushes on the island.   But, our two favorite things on the island are the barrel bridge and the caves.   There are two fun caves on the island with many places to hide and scare your siblings or your significant other (this may get you in trouble, you have been warned).   But what are the names of these caves????   Answer is just below the pictures.

Tom Sawyer Island 5 Tom Sawyer Island 10 Tom Sawyer Island 19

Still trying to guess what the two caves are called??   How about Injun Joe’s and the Magnetic Mystery Mine.   What part of Tom Sawyer Island do you enjoy the most?

Hidden Mickey Monday: Peter Pan

Hidden Mickey Monday: Peter Pan

Our Hidden Mickey this week is found on the Peter Pan’s Flight Attraction at the Magic Kingdom.  Just as you enter the ride, be sure to look down at Nana’s dog house.   Just in front of the dog house entrance is a Mickey.   It’s pretty tough to see if your eyes haven’t adjusted to the darkness yet.   Below are a couple shots, one close up to help you see it better.

Nana is a Newfoundland in the 1953 animated film Peter Pan.   When George is leaving Wendy’s room he trips over Nana which is how she ends up in the dog house.   Attempting to take her with to Neverland was stopped because of her leash.   But Nana is there for their return and back in the house and out of the dog house.

What is your favorite Hidden Mickey?

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: Interactive Rides

Did You Know Today’s Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia About The First Interactive Rides

Many queues and rides today are being built with guest interactivity.   This not only makes the ride and queues more enjoyable for the guest, but also ensures a repeat visit as the ride is different each time.   Though new rides such as Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and Toy Story Mania have improved the interactivity with technology, there are two attractions that have been around from the early days of Disney that were the first to offer an interactive ride.   Which two would they be……  take a look at the pictures below for a big hint.

Dumbo    Mad Tea Party 072013 - 5

The Mad Tea Party is technically first as it opened day 1, July 17th 1955 with Dumbo opening on August 16, 1955 due to some fiberglass issues.   Both of these rides still operate today and have lines that continue to show their popularity.    On Dumbo the guest is able to use the lever to fly Dumbo higher or lower.   On the Mad Tea Party, guests are able to spin their tea cup faster, slower, or in the opposite direction.
