Today’s Hidden Mickey Monday is from Animal Kingdom’s Kilimanjaro Safaris.   As your safari reaches deeper into the animal kingdom, many people are on the lookout for animals.   But have you spotted this giant Hidden Mickey?

Kilimanjaro Safaris 13 Hidden

As you enter Elephant Country and spot Flamingo Island, be sure to take a close look at the shape of the island.   Yes it’s a classic Mickey shape.   As build up occurs around the edges, cast member re-dig the sides to ensure it maintains the Mickey shape.

Want more Hidden Mickey’s, check out our friends at Frontierland Station for a full body Mickey this week.

I know you clicked to read this thinking that it was a Hot Dog with a side of Mac and Cheese, wrongooo.   This is a hot dog covered in Mac and Cheese in a bun.   Yes, together in a bun and yes it’s messy and yes it’s good.   Did you know that Disney’s Mac and Cheese goes through a kids taste test and it’s wonderful, if you haven’t tried it at any location you need to.

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: What do the PeopleMover and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster have in Common??

Did You Know Today’s TIGGERIFIC TUESDAY TRIVIA On what the PeopleMover and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster have in common??

If you guessed wait times, you are incorrect.   The PeopleMover is propelled by a Linear Induction Motor (LIM) which is the same system used to propel the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to 60 MPH.   Though the PeopleMover never reaches a speed over 7 MPH, the linear motors use an electrical current to create an electromagnetic field.   The PeopleMover vehicles have magnets on them and the interaction with the magnetic fields create propulsion and move the vehicles along the track.  The system is great on the environment and also on repair costs as fewer parts break down due to friction.

Fastpass to History: 25th Anniversary Cake

Fastpass to History: 25th Anniversary Cake

Welcome to our first post in the Fastpass to History, hosted by Frontierland Station.

Disney World 25th Anniversary Cake Castle

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Walt Disney World in 1996, the castle was transformed into a giant 18 story birthday cake.   This was by far not my favorite idea from the Imagineers.  Fortunately the cake was removed in early 1998.

What made up the cake??

  • 1000 feet of pink and blue inflatable icing
  • 400 Gallons of pink paint
  • 26 Candles ranging in height of 20 to 40 feet
  • 12 five foot gumdrops
  • 16 five foot candy bears
  • 4 six foot Life Savers
  • 30 three foot lollipops
  • 50 two foot gumballs

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: As the Carrousel turns…

Did You Know Today’s TIGGERIFIC TUESDAY TRIVIA On which way the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel turns??

This one made me think, hmm which way do some of the rides turn.   Do you know which way the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel turns?   Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise.   Think hard, or look ahead to our picture for a big hint.

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel

The answer is…. counter-clockwise.   The Astro Orbiter does a better job keeping time as it turns with the clock.
