Magic Kingdom Hub Expansion Picture Update

Magic Kingdom Hub Expansion Picture Update

A few weeks ago we reported that the Magic Kingdom is expanding the central hub of the park to provide more walking space and viewing areas for the parades and shows.   Last week while we were at the park I took a few shots to give our readers a look at the progress they have made along with the look of the hub if you have a trip coming soon.

Hub Expansion 1

Starting with the castle, the dry moat is giving Disney the opportunity to refresh the paint on the castle. They do have times throughout the day when the trucks are not there so hopefully you can still get a good picture.

Click Here for Hub expansion pictures taken the week of April 1st 2014.

The Hub area at the Magic Kingdom is one of the most congested areas of the park especially during shows and at closing time when everyone is trying to exit the park. Disney is working to improve this area and add new viewing areas (Fastpass+) for the shows.   Below is a quick fly through of what the new area will look like.

Notice the addition of an outer pathway around the current path and also the areas around Casey’s and The Plaza Restaurant will grow covering some of the water way area there now.

Overall this looks like a great improvement and welcomed to help reduce the crowd congestion in the area.   What do you think about this change?

And music, these parades touch on all our senses and as they mention in this clip, the music is the glue that holds all the pieces and scenes together.   Let’s take a look inside one of the recording sessions……
We are so excited to see this new parade, which float or what part of the parade are you most excited to see?

Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade 072013 - 1

Say it’s not so, one of our all time favorite parades at Walt Disney World will be coming to an end this June 2014.  Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade has been a feature of the Animal Kingdom since 2001.   As the Animal Kingdom welcomes in the new Pandora (Avatar) area, Disney indicated that work on this area will soon impede on the parade path along with guest viewing areas.    At this point Disney has not announced any replacement for the parade, but we do know that new entertainment is on the way including a nighttime water show.  Fingers crossed that we don’t lose the parade forever as Hollywood Studios did last year.   Will you miss Jammin’ Jungle?   Let us know in the comments below…..

Fastpass to History – The Monster Sound Show

Fastpass to History – The Monster Sound Show

“This is a frightening thought. Chevy Chase and Martin Short need your help.” Did you ever help them on The Monster Sound Show at MGM?

Monster Sounds

Presented by Sony, the Monster Sound Show at Disney-MGM Studios was an interactive show that allowed members of the audience to join sound actors on stage to reproduce sound effects for movies.
During the show, 4 members of the audience were selected (volunteered) to help add the sounds effects for a short comedy film in which a deranged butler (Martin Short) attempted to kill an insurance salesman (Chevy Chase).

At the end of the show you would watch the film for a second time, this time with the sound effects that were added by the volunteers, most of them off the mark which provided for some funny moments.
After the show you would head into the Soundworks post show area where everyone had their chance at adding sound to classic movies.

This area was The Monster Sound Show from 1989 to 1997.   Then became the One Saturday Morning Sound Show for a short time July 1997 to Feb 1999.   It was also  Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey from April 1999 to Jan 2009.  And today this area is used for Jedi Training Academy Sign Up and also Carbon Freeze Me.
