Our Favorite Food This Week: Strawberry Shortcake Sundae

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. Our son turned 12 last week and we spent it at the water parks, what better way to spend the day in this summer heat. And what better place to feed my ice cream addiction :). We walked into Blizzard Beach and past IC Expeditions and I had to check out the menu, I knew I would be on an expedition later that day. I settled on the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae which is vanilla ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream served over shortbread. I loved it! It had the right mix of each ingredient and really hit the spot feeding the addiction. If you are at Blizzard Beach and want to go on an Expedition, I would recommend the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae!!

That looks – and sounds – delicious. Here in PA, we eat Strawberry Shortcake for a meal. We’ve had it twice in the past 2 weeks!
Oh it was delicious, it was the first time I have had ice cream with my strawberry shortcake. After this I will be adding vanilla ice cream all the time now. Thanks for stopping by and adding to the Favorite Food Friday Fun!
Did you ever have the Strawberry Shortcake at Hoop Dee Doo? It’s yummy and made in a cast iron skillet, topped with ice cream (as I recall).
Oh we have eaten there a couple times, but I don’t remember the ice cream on it. I thought ours was just topped with whipped cream. Now i have to go back and check 🙂 The one at Blizzard Beach was more ice cream than anything, I think that’s why I liked it so much.
Maybe it was just whipped cream. I was thinking it was ice cream, though. I guess I’m going to have to go back also! Darn!
