Welcome to Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods.    This past week we spent a day at Epoct enjoying the beautiful Flower and Garden Festival.   As with each year of this Festival, we look forward to the flower arrangements, we also can’t wait to get another Frozen Violet Lemonade.    This frozen drink is sweet, delicious, and an excellent way to cool off in the spring Florida sun.    This has always been one of our favorite items at the Flower and Garden booths, so we are glad it’s back again this year.    It’s so good, even the Undercover Tourist has a recipe you can try at home if you can’t make it to the parks.   Stay tuned over the next couple weeks as we share more of our Flower and Garden treats.    If you have a favorite this year let us know……

Our Favorite Food This Week: Hei Hei Ice Cream Cone
Location: Aloha Isle, Adventureland, Magic Kingdom
Price: $5.29

Welcome to Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods.    This week we head over to the Magic Kingdom to try one of the new themed Ice Cream Cones they have introduced.    We headed over to Aloha Isle to try the Hei Hei inspired Cone from Moana.   Being that I’m not a huge Dole Whip fan I had my doubts that I would enjoy this ice cream cone, but boy was I surprised.   The blue cone is topped with pineapple Dole Whip and Raspberry Soft Serve Ice Cream.   They then place two sugar eyes along with a sour strip to complete Hei Hei.  My wife and I really enjoyed the flavors and the mix will be perfect in the summer heat.   Just have to eat fast as this one is a quick melter.

Lion King Cupcake

Our Favorite Food This Week: Lion King Cupcake
Location:  Pizzafari, Animal Kingdom
Price: $5.99

Welcome to Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods.    This week we head over to the Animal Kingdom, for a treat that’s soon to be one of your favorites.   Look at that cute little guy on the cupcake, so cute you can bite his face off.   The Lion King cupcake is here to welcome in the new Lion King Movie coming to theaters this summer (July 19, 2019).   Be sure to check out the trailer if you haven’t yet.   Looks like it’s going to as amazing as this cupcake.   The moist yellow cake is filled with white chocolate mousse and topped with my favorite sweet buttercream frosting.    Don’t forget Simba, yes, his face is edible but doesn’t add any flavor, so we just took it off to enjoy the rest of this amazing treat.

Liberty Tree Tavern

Our Favorite Food This Week: Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner
Location:  Liberty Tree Tavern – Magic Kingdom
Price: $38 Adult / $21 Child

Welcome to Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods.   I challenge you to read this and not become extremely hungry.   Looking at the picture above, I know what you are thinking.   DayByDay, that’s a lot to digest.   I know it is it, but it’s so good let me tell you……     Liberty Tree Tavern is located in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square, a step back in time to colonial America.   The restaurant atmosphere is on point and you feel as if you are in a New England home.    But once the food starts coming you can put the history lesson behind you and dive in to some traditional comfort food.

The meals begins with serving of warm rolls and a salad, but don’t fill up – here comes the main course.    The Patriot’s Platter, as they call it, is full of turkey breast, pot roast, oven roasted pork, mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies, stuffing, and the famous Disney Mac and Cheese.    This is all you can eat, folks, so taste test it all and ask for more as you find your favorites.    Everything we had was great, but I fell in love with the pot roast and mashed potatoes.   And if that’s not enough the meal is finished with Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake – which i wasn’t sure I was going to like as I’m not a huge toffee fan.   The dessert is vanilla cake with toffee filling, caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream.   And it was out of this colonial world.    Overall this is at the top of our list of table service restaurants at the Magic Kingdom and can’t wait to visit it again.
