Cheeseburger Pods

Our Favorite Food This Week: Cheeseburger Pods
Location: Satu’li Canteen – Animal Kingdom
Price:  $10.99

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.  This week we venture into Animal Kingdom and Pandora – The World of Avatar to check out Satu’li Canteen and the highly anticipated Cheeseburger Pods.   The Pods are stuffed with seasoned ground beef, ketchup, mustard, pickle, and cheddar cheese and accompanied by root vegetable chips and vegetable slaw.  The entire plate was very good and had great flavor.   The pod “bun” is a bit sweet, sort of like a Hawaiian bun, but there was just a little too much of it.   As you can see in our picture above I would have liked a little more meat and a bit less bun.  This makes a great meal if you have picky eaters in your party who don’t want to try some of the other delicious meals.    Overall this is something I would get again and would recommend you give them a try on your next trip.   Have you tried them?   What did you think?

Favorite Food Friday – Thanksgiving Flatbread

Favorite Food Friday – Thanksgiving Flatbread

Our Favorite Food This Week: Thanksgiving Flatbread
Location: Pinocchio Village Haus – Magic Kingdom
Price:  $10.99

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.   The parks have switched from Halloween decorations to Christmas overnight, and the food selections have followed as well.   This week we head over to the Magic Kingdom and stop in at Pinocchio Village Haus for their latest Featured Flatbread.   This month they are featuring the Thanksgiving Dinner Flatbread.   This flatbread is covered with Turkey, Stuffing, Cheese, Cranberry BBQ Sauce, and is topped with Gravy.   The overall flavor was good and I did enjoy trying it, but I’m not much of a stuffing guy and this had a bit too much stuffing and not enough turkey for my taste.   I always enjoy trying something new, but this one won’t be added to my must have list on our next trip.   Have you tried it?   What did you think?

Our Favorite Food This Week: Sprinkles Cupcakes
Location: Sprinkles – Disney Springs
Price:  Cupcake $5

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.   This week we continue to temp your sweet tooth…. I know, you are still sitting there with your hand in the Halloween candy, but just look at these cupcakes.  You can find them at Sprinkles which is located in Disney Springs, near the T-Rex restaurant.   Sprinkles offers up a variety of cupcakes including seasonal favorites, they also have cookies ($3.50) and ice cream ($5 single/$7 double scoop).   We tried the standard vanilla along with the Banana Bread, Apple Cinnamon, and of course Pumpkin.   All had very good flavor and were moist, but our favorite was the Banana Bread.     For those who already know what they want, there is a cupcake ATM machine to the right of the front door.   Yep, you can use their touch screen to select your cupcake, use your card to pay, and your cupcake is ready.   Very cool, be sure to check them out next time you are at Disney Springs.

Favorite Food Friday – Boeuf Bourguignon and Creme Brulee

Favorite Food Friday – Boeuf Bourguignon and Creme Brulee

Our Favorite Food This Week: Boeuf Bourguignon and Creme Brulee
Location: Epcot – Food and Wine, France
Price:  Boeuf Bourguignon – $6.25 / Creme Brulee – $4.25

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.   This week we head over to Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival which is filled with food, food, and more food.  This year the festival runs from August 31 – November 13.   If you get the chance be sure to check it out – there is no additional cost besides the park entrance fee to attend the festival.    Our stop today is in France where we tried both the Boeuf Bourguignon and Creme Brulee.  Both were very good, but the Creme Brulee was one of the best we have tried on property.    The Boeuf Bourguignon has been around for many years and is Cabernet braised short ribs which were very tender with mashed potatoes.  If it looks and sounds good to you – stop by our friends at The Disney Food Blog for the recipe.   The Creme Brulee was creamy and full of flavor with raspberry jam at the bottom that you could mix in with each bite.   Have you tried something that you simply love at this years festival?   Let us know!

Favorite Food Friday – Night Blossom

Favorite Food Friday – Night Blossom

Our Favorite Food This Week: Night Blossom
Location: Pongu Pongu – Animal Kingdom
Price:  $5.99 (8.99 with glowing seed)

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.   This week we take a step into Pandora – The World of Avatar at the Animal Kingdom and take a look at one of the most talked about drinks, the Night Blossom.   This drink is available at the Pongu Pongu (which means Party Party in the Na’vi language).   The Night Blossom is a frozen drink that is filled with both sweet and sour flavors.   The flavors are hard to explain, think sour skittles or similar sweet sour candy.   The Passion Fruit Boba Balls are definitely a nice treat, the straw that you get is extra wide so these little guys can come right up into your mouth and burst with flavors.    Overall it was a great drink on a hot day and one that we would enjoy again.   What’s your favorite food in Pandora???
