Liberty Tree Tavern

Our Favorite Food This Week: Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner
Location:  Liberty Tree Tavern – Magic Kingdom
Price: $38 Adult / $21 Child

Welcome to Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods.   I challenge you to read this and not become extremely hungry.   Looking at the picture above, I know what you are thinking.   DayByDay, that’s a lot to digest.   I know it is it, but it’s so good let me tell you……     Liberty Tree Tavern is located in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square, a step back in time to colonial America.   The restaurant atmosphere is on point and you feel as if you are in a New England home.    But once the food starts coming you can put the history lesson behind you and dive in to some traditional comfort food.

The meals begins with serving of warm rolls and a salad, but don’t fill up – here comes the main course.    The Patriot’s Platter, as they call it, is full of turkey breast, pot roast, oven roasted pork, mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies, stuffing, and the famous Disney Mac and Cheese.    This is all you can eat, folks, so taste test it all and ask for more as you find your favorites.    Everything we had was great, but I fell in love with the pot roast and mashed potatoes.   And if that’s not enough the meal is finished with Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake – which i wasn’t sure I was going to like as I’m not a huge toffee fan.   The dessert is vanilla cake with toffee filling, caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream.   And it was out of this colonial world.    Overall this is at the top of our list of table service restaurants at the Magic Kingdom and can’t wait to visit it again.

Favorite Food Friday – Chicken Parmesan

Our Favorite Food This Week: Chicken Parmesan
Location: Pinocchio Village Haus, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
Price:  $12.49

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.  On our last trip we decided to stop in at Pinocchio’s at the Magic Kingdom since we hadn’t been there in awhile.   We always love to sit at the window seats and wave to those beginning their it’s a small world voyage.  Food here has changed some in the last few years, so we selected a few different items.   My wife picked the Chicken Parmesan and this seemed to be all of our favorite.   It’s a standard mix of flavors, a breaded chicken breast, pasta, and sauce.   The chicken breast was a good size portion and was very moist.   The pasta was cooked well and the sauce added a bit of flavor to the dish, we would have liked a few more spices in the sauce to add a bit more favor.   Overall we would order this dish again.   Don’t forget to sit by the windows and wave.

This week’s theme:  Love this…..

You had to know with this week’s theme, I would have to go to food.   This is one treat that I love at the Magic Kingdom, the Citrus Swirl.   As a young boy we would visit the Magic Kingdom and I loved to see the Orange Bird at the Sunshine Tree Terrace.   Often times we would get the Orange Bird cup which would always find it’s way into my luggage for the return trip home.   I’m sorry all you Dole Whip fans out there, today I express my love for the Citrus Swirl.   If you have not tried it, and you enjoy anything orange flavored, be sure to give it a shot – you will not be disappointed.   Are you a Dole Whip or Citrus Swirl fan, let us know in the comments below……

Our Favorite Food This Week: Chicken Pot Pie
Location: Columbia Harbour House
Cost: $10.79

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends.  This week we head back to one of our favorite counter service restaurants at the Magic Kingdom, the Columbia Harbour House.   As the seasons change from summer to fall, it’s time we find some hearty warm food to keep us going.   On this occasion we selected the Chicken Pot Pie.    This is the perfect meal to fill you up and keep you warm on those upcoming Florida evenings.   The pot pie is filled with large pieces of chicken, potatoes, and veggies.  The buttery crust and bread crumbs on top were the perfect touch and made this a meal that we would definitely get again.
