Review

Soarin or Soarin over California is an amazing simulator ride experience that can be enjoyed by everyone in the family.

Ever see someone hang-gliding and think, wow that would be cool to do. Well now is your chance to get a similar experience with no danger involved. Soarin takes you on a high flying journey over the following California locations:

• Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco
• Redwood Creek
• Napa Valley
• Monterey
• Lake Tahoe
• Yosemite Nation Park
• PGA golf course in La Quinta (watch for the Mickey on the golf ball)
• Camarillo
• Anza-Borrego Desert Park
• San Diego
• Malibu
• Los Angeles
• Disneyland (watch for Mickey in the fireworks)

The experience plays on all your senses as you fly over the above locations. Feel the glider tilt and catch the wind, hear the water falls and birds chirp and also smell the pine trees orange trees and the sea. So grab hold of your glider and fly with us, but be sure to use the safety strap if you don’t measure up to the height indicator. Be advised, even though you are not flying, the ride does lift you off of the ground and puts you up close to the screen, so if you have a fear of heights you might want to sit this one out.

Tip: Row 1 Center is the best seats in the house as you are centered in the screen and you don’t have to look at people’s swinging feet.

Rating

This is one of our favorites at Epcot, though we do wish they would clean up the film as there is a lot of dust lately.    There is just something so calming about the music and flying high over the sights.   If you aren’t afraid of heights, be sure to fly with Soarin.
