One Man’s Dream
Review
Ever wanted to know about Walt Disney and the planning of Disney World? Or maybe you just want to go indoors and appreciate some air conditioning. Then head on over to Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream, located next to Voyage of the Little Mermaid. In this gallery-type museum you’ll find rare artifacts from Disney’s personal and professional life, and learn a little bit about the man himself. And after visiting the gallery of artifacts, you’ll be able to sit down and enjoy a short film about Walt.
Parent Worry Note: This is a museum type setting with a fifteen minute biographical film at the end. Although it’s not as stuffy as a stereotypical museum, it is a place where people should be respectful. If it’s hard for your kids to sit still, especially with the excitement of Disney World running through their veins, you might want to skip this place. But if you have older children and you want them to actually learn something on their vacation, then this is the perfect spot. Our ten year old actually found it pretty interesting.
Final Note: This is a museum dedicated to Walt Disney. It’s the perfect place to get away from the crowds and step into some air conditioning. Even if you’re not a museum fan you’ll enjoy seeing Disney World through the ages, learning about Walt’s life, and you’ll even get to see modeled plans for Disney parks. You’ll leave this area feeling a little more relaxed and a little more knowledgeable about the man behind the mouse.
